week 6 (term 2)

10-11-09
Today, we were going to do the assessment. Before the assessment, we had practiced first for 10 minutes. Everyone was playing confidently and well, I think. My turn to play my composition is after Kevin, I was nervous because I got a bad feeling about it. There was a little error but I hope I could get a high and reliable score.

At the next meeting, we reviewed our music theory ( G major, D major, A major + the inversions). And then I saw Riza and Gaby performances. Next, my teacher asked us one by one about the music theory.

week 5 (term 2)

In this day, we checked our inversions and transcript them into a sheet. Then some of my friends showed their performance of their compositions. Thereafter we reviewed the accidental numbers.

At the next meet, my teacher asked me about the finale homework, I already done with the notations but I haven’t done with the lyrics, so I decided not to send my composition. After that, I continued my lyrics composition and wrote my reflection on making a music composition. At last, we did the rehearsal for the composition.

week 4 (term2)

In this week, we only had our music class for once because there was a holiday. My teacher showed me how to authorize the finale software. Then my friends and me sang ‘La Bamba’ for twice. I saw Amadea’s performance with her own composition. After that my teacher told us to practice our own compositions for the assessment.

week 3 (term 2)

Today I did my assessment in singing ‘Gundul-Gundul Pacul’ song. I chose Riza as my partner while singing the song. After my performance, everybody did the same thing. Then we learned about 7 major and the inversions.

Second meeting came, we sang the ‘What a Wonderful World’ song together. There was a little mistake while I was singing the song since I had not learned the song before. After that, I saw Daud, Raissa, Gaby, Derian, and Adi performances in singing ‘Gundul-Gundul Pacul’ song. Finally, my teacher checked our previous homework. I forgot to put sharps on the inversions.

week 2 (term 2)

At this time, I copied my task about midi files into the one of my teacher’s file while my teacher was teaching other students. Then, I learned about how to make 32 bars of pop song. After that, my teacher checked my bars and told me about the mistakes.

16-10-09
Next day, we learned two new songs, first ‘Gundul-Gundul Pacul’ song and ‘La Bamba’ from Mexico. Next, we copied our music arrangement to a paper.

Week 1 (term 2)

My teacher told me about our next tasks. Later, we learned about how to make a pop song. A pop song has AABA form mostly. And then we identified ‘Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star’ song and searched for the similarity. After identified, we tried to make a pop song by our selves.

In next meeting, we discussed about many variations of a song form. My teacher also showed us about a software which is called Finale. Thereafter, I saw one of the sources which contains histories of many popular and classic composers.

week 5

Today, we got our booklet, we studied a bit about the booklet. Then, we learned about sharp, flat, and natural. Sharp= +1/2, flat= -1/2, natural = back to original. After that we watched our previous assessment. I looked very terrible but from the video I knew my mistakes. After watched the video we saw Banu’s performance with his instrument.

In the second day of the week, my teacher told me about the worksheet and how to access it. I saw Lucky’s blog. Then, we sang Indonesian song, we were singing ‘Berkibarlah Benderaku’. It was a good experience.

Week 4

1-09-09
In this time, my teacher asked us about chord and 7 chord. I made a mistake while my teacher was asking me about 7 chord, so I had to sing in front of my friends. Then, we saw the Gloria’s presentation which showed us about country music.

Next session arrived, it was our assessment day, I hate it. Every single of us playing their own instrument and showed their abilities to get the highest mark in assessment day. At last we learned about major 7, dominant 7, chord 6, chord 69, and chord 9.

week 3

21-08-09

We checked about Nadia’s melody. After that, every group of music ideologies presented about their theme. My group is pop and rock music, my group contained of Floransie, Adi, Nadia, and me. My teacher marked our job for six. My teacher told us how to make our individual booklet.


25-08-09

At the next meeting, we reviewed about triad chord and we also learned about 7 chord from C major until D major. Finally, we watched Derian, Gloria, Floransie, and Amadea instrument performances.
